GOLEINE is not only a unisex name meaning harmony in Welsh, but also the newest and most intriguing folk-jazz collective from Limburg (NL).
Formed in 2023, the band consists of pianist Mike Roelofs (winner of the Dutch Jazz Competition & Anne MG Schmidt Award), double bassist Peter Willems (winner of the Princess Christina Concours & Maastricht Jazz Award), Dutch-Rwandese vocalist Charlotte Haesen (EuJazz Award winner), guitarist/producer Philip Breidenbach.
Atmosphere, virtuosity, vulnerability, and strong storytelling: GOLEINE brings it all together in a sound that defies categories yet feels familiar and deeply moving. The band tirelessly builds their own musical universe — cinematic, soulful, and rich in harmony. Their debut tour has taken them across The Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, leaving behind a trail of enchanted audiences.

Mike Roelofs (piano, keyboards, vocals)
An adventurous improviser and acclaimed composer, Mike Roelofs is known for his dynamic presence in both the jazz and theater worlds. With numerous awards and collaborations to his name, his playing bridges genres with ease, combining depth with spontaneity.
Charlotte Haesen (vocals)
Known for her unmistakable timbre and emotional storytelling, Charlotte reaches her listeners with authenticity and grace. Born in Amsterdam and raised between French-speaking Belgium and the Netherlands, her roots span France, the Netherlands, and Burundi. A graduate of the Maastricht Conservatory and the Amsterdam University of the Arts, she has performed in over 15 countries, winning awards such as the EuJazz Award and the Public Prize at the Concours de la Chanson (AF). Charlotte is also known for her projects Café des Chansons and her duo with guitarist Philip Breidenbach.
Philip Breidenbach (guitar, producer)
Born in Aachen, Germany in 1985, Philip began his musical journey at age seven. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, his artistic versatility is rooted in his early exposure to a wide range of instruments and genres. After graduating from the Maastricht Conservatory in 2009, he has become known for his lush guitar sound and refined production style, working across jazz, folk, pop, and theater.
Peter Willems (double bass, vocals)
One of the most promising new voices on the European jazz scene, Peter Willems brings profound musical sensitivity and depth to GOLEINE. A prizewinner of the Princess Christina Jazz Concours and Maastricht Jazz Award, he is both a powerful instrumentalist and a captivating singer, blending technical mastery with raw emotion.
