Let me introduce myself…..
I was born in Amsterdam in the’60ties as Eduard Leornard Bopp.
When I was 2 months old, my family emigrated to the state New Jersey, USA.
My parents were music fanatics, and outdoor people(they loved to hike, fish, and camp). I grew up on the backseat of my parent’s Plymouth-fury station wagon driving to different campsites listening to WABC radio, 8 track tapes of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, and all that cool modern music of the day in the sixties and seventies.
The first instrument I learned to play was the Alt Sax in school. At the age of 13 we went back to the Netherlands. At the age of 14 I became interested in and started playing the Electric Guitar (a birthday present from my dad) I loved the gritty sound of distortion.
Inspired by AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Queen’s Brian May, Boston’s Tom Scholz I started playing and discovering what you can do with sound and different effects.
Shortly after, I started playing music together with my brother and friends and my first band “Pharoe”was a born. In 1979 the Dutch Rock band “Vandale” was a fact. We played 150 gigs a year. From 1984 on I played in many different bands like Via Via, Toys, Urban Heroes, MYSTYX, Alan Case band and a lot of bar room R&R blues bands. Apart from that I recorded a lot of never released solo stuff.
I did a lot of recording in the best studios in the Netherlands like Wisseloord, Relight, Bulletsound, Bolland studios, and some others. After a while I started making demos on a 4-track tape recorder because it was a hell of a lot cheaper than renting a studio. I started to invest in my own gear. All the cool things I worked with in these great studios. A lot changed when computers were good enough to record with, but my love for vintage gear and tape remained.
I made a wish list of cool studio gear I would love to have, like the MCI JH24 Analog 24 track machine, the MCI JH110 2-track mastering machine, Sony DRE2000 reverb’s, vintage Soundcraft Series 2400 desk,SPL/ Focusrite preamp’s, Eventide Harmonizers, and TC system 6000+ 5000 effects. The amazing converters from Apogee and many other goodies I came across in those great studios.
After recording the new ‘Vandale’ album ‘Kanniebale’ in 2018, I decided I’d like to record for other bands and artists.
With a shit load of experience and vintage tricks, you are now welcome to my realm of top of the bill vintage and modern recording gear.
Are you interested in making a professional recording….. demo?
